Information we collect
When you place or discuss an order, we collect information including your name, email address, telephone number, billing and delivery address, order details and correspondence. Stripe processes your payment details; we do not receive or store your complete card number.
We also receive limited website and campaign information, such as page views, referring source, campaign reference, approximate location, device or browser information and completed checkout events. Our analytics are intended to measure traffic and customer flow, not to build individual advertising profiles.
How and why we use information
We process order and contact information to take payment, fulfil and deliver orders, provide receipts and service messages, manage returns and refunds, prevent fraud, keep accounting records and respond to enquiries. The lawful bases are performance of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations and our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the business.
We use aggregated analytics and campaign information to understand site performance and marketing effectiveness. We do not sell personal information and do not use it for unrelated direct marketing without an appropriate lawful basis.
Who receives information
We share information only as needed with service providers including Stripe for payments and receipts, Netlify for website hosting and functions, Cloudflare and Umami for privacy-focused analytics, PurelyMail for business email, and delivery, customs or professional service providers involved in fulfilling orders and meeting legal obligations.
Some providers process information outside the UK. Where required, we rely on recognised safeguards such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual protections.
Retention
We generally retain order, payment and tax records for up to six years after the relevant accounting period. Customer-service and returns correspondence is normally retained for up to two years after the matter is closed, unless it forms part of an accounting, legal or warranty record. Analytics retention is controlled through the relevant provider and is kept only as long as useful for measuring site and campaign performance.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask us for access to your personal information, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or an objection to processing. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. Contact us using the business details below. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami to measure anonymous or minimally identifying traffic and checkout events. They are configured for unobtrusive measurement and Do Not Track support. Stripe may use necessary storage and security technologies when checkout loads. We do not currently use advertising cookies or cross-site behavioural advertising.
Changes
We may update this notice when our services or legal obligations change. The effective date above identifies the current version.
Terms of sale
Products
Our products are assembled by hand using repurposed components. Each item is unique, and reasonable cosmetic or component variation from photographs and descriptions should be expected. Such variation does not affect your statutory right to receive goods that are as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose.
Orders and payment
The website invites you to place an order. A binding contract is formed when we accept the order by confirming payment or dispatch. We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch where stock, pricing, payment, delivery or legal issues prevent fulfilment; if so, we will refund amounts paid.
Prices are shown in pounds sterling. Autopilot is not currently VAT registered, so no UK VAT is separately charged. Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store full card details.
Delivery and duties
We currently deliver to the UK and EU and aim to dispatch within three working days. Carrier delivery times are estimates and may be affected by customs or events outside our reasonable control. Unless otherwise agreed, goods will be delivered within 30 days.
UK shipping is free. EU orders are charged £15 shipping and £30 duties. Orders outside the UK are delivered duty paid; Autopilot is responsible for import charges above the amount collected from you. Contact us promptly if a carrier asks you to pay import charges on delivery.
Risk passes to you when the goods are delivered to you or a person you nominate. Ownership passes when we have received payment in full.
Cancellation and returns
You have statutory cancellation and return rights for online orders. Our Returns policy explains the cancellation period, how to notify us, return postage, refunds and the model cancellation form.
Faulty or incorrect goods
If goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or not fit for purpose, contact support@autopilot.gmbh. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are not limited by these terms. Where legally required, we will cover reasonable return costs and provide an appropriate repair, replacement, price reduction or refund. Further practical details are in our Returns policy.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your statutory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed or for business losses arising from a consumer purchase.
General
If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. These terms are governed by English law, and consumers may bring proceedings in the courts applicable to where they live.
